Our Covenants

Our Covenants are commitments made by those involved with Hope Academy and vary depending on an individual’s relationship to the organization. Our desire is that these covenants bind an individual to the mission and values of God through Hope Academy.

Board: I-SEEK

I am fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. I commit myself to carrying out the mission of Hope Academy. With God’s help I will: Seek partnerships with individuals, churches, foundations, and community organizations so that Hope Academy’s contribution to the community is known, understood, and valued.
Establish relationships which will facilitate strategic connections between people desiring to help Hope Academy and people who can make those desires possible and practical. Evaluate our performance as a school according to our goals, and plan for continuing progress. Keep praying regularly for God’s direction, protection, and provision for Hope Academy, and for the students, families, staff, and board.

Faculty & Staff: I WILL

I am fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God to educate, encourage, and equip each student academically, socially, and spiritually. With God’s help I will: Work with parents to encourage each student towards his or her full potential and communicate clearly in a timely manner. Implement well planned, intentional instruction in order to educate each student and utilize Hope Academy resources and time effectively. Learn and continue growing as a teacher and as a follower of Christ in order to equip myself to continue to bless our community. Love others as Christ has loved me and model His love through my thoughts, words, and actions.

Parents: I HOPE

I am fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God to be my student’s most important teacher and example. With God’s help I will: Help my student succeed by establishing home routines, finding a quiet place and time for him or her to read and study, and enforcing a reasonable bedtime. Order our home so that my student will arrive at school on time, in SMOD, and prepared to hand in all assignments and required papers each day. Prevent problems by communicating clearly with the appropriate Hope Academy staff if I have a concern, and by communicating with my child if any Hope Academy staff have a concern. Encourage my student to do their very best work at all times, have my student read every day and check his or her planner for assignments.

Students: I CAN

I am fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God I will think, speak, behave, work and play in a way that reflects well on myself, my family, and on Hope Academy. With God’s help I will: Complete my assignments, study, and practice every day so that I am well prepared to learn. I will always show respect to adults in authority by having a teachable attitude, listening to rules and directions, and obeying quickly. I will always show respect to my brothers and sisters by being loving, considerate, helpful, and unselfish. I will always show respect for myself because I am responsible for my actions, I will never give up, I will ask for help when I need it, and I will not make excuses!
